De Lille 'blackened our name'

The Cape Town Minstrel Carnival Association said yesterday that the city's mayor, Patricia de Lille, had damaged the association's relationships with its suppliers. "At the beginning of the year the city laid complaints with the public prosecutor against us and the mayor said that we're corrupt and called us liars," said carnival association spokesman Kevin Momberg.
