In a drama-filled day, ANC and DA supporters in Cape Town came close to exchanging blows during a protest against "gangsters", and their leaders traded insults. The DA, led by premier Helen Zille, Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille and Human Settlements MEC Bonginkosi Madikizela, staged a protest at the ANC office in the city centre over President Jacob Zuma's reported meeting before the last election with Cape gang bosses.
