A fast-thinking mother saved her daughter from possible serious injury when a taxi drove into a bus stop in Sea Point on Wednesday morning.

The woman and her child were at the bus stop on Main Road, close to Tramway, when she saw the minibus coming towards them and got the girl out of the way, ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said.

The woman, in her 30s, sustained moderate injuries when the taxi crashed into the bus stop. The girl, aged about six, sustained minor injuries. Both were taken to hospital.

Authorities were investigating the incident.
