The well-dressed elderly gentleman clearly looked out of place when he tried to enter one of Hollywood's trendiest nightclubs - so much so that the bouncers refused him admission. They appeared not to realise that the man they were turning away was Sir Paul McCartney, 73, who was trying to get into a post-Grammy Awards party hosted by the rap singer Tyga at the Argyle club, one of Los Angeles' most fashionable venues.Sir Paul was refused access twice on Monday night after he turned up with his wife, Nancy Shevell, and friends, reported the entertainment website TMZ.The former Beatle appeared to take the snub in good humour, joking "How VIP do we gotta get?" after failing in his first attempt at entry along with the singer Beck and Taylor Hawkins, the drummer with Foo Fighters. He then quipped: "We need another hit" before leaving after a second attempt at persuasion was rejected. He was later spotted at a cocktail bar, where he and his friends were joined by Woody Harrelson.Tyga later expressed surprise that his august guest had been turned away, calling him "a legend". ..
