SCA dismisses Government’s Bashir appeal

Government’s failure to arrest Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir was unlawful. That’s the result of Tuesday’s dismissal of government’s appeal by the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein.The appeal stems from a judgment in June 2015 in which the high court in Pretoria stated that Al-Bashir should have been arrested while in South Africa under a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court to face trial for crimes committed in Sudan.
