Hawks nail three SAPS employees for alleged fraud and corruption

The Hawks in Gauteng on Wednesday morning arrested three employees of the SA Police Service (SAPS) stationed at Brakpan police station’s support service for allegedly defrauding the state of R37‚000 in false overtime claims. The alleged mastermind‚ who works at the station’s finance department‚ allegedly created overtime claims for himself‚ wife and sister-in-law who work at the same station at Human Resource Management and loss management respectively for a period of eight months‚ said Hawks spokesperson Lieutenant Carol Mulamu.The trio‚ aged 33‚ 37 and 44‚ were arrested while on duty and will appear in the Brakpan Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on charges of fraud and corruption‚ she said...
