Mariechan starts afresh
Jamali's Mariechan Luiters is back with a different, edgier sound as she goes solo after 10 years with the Coca-Cola Popstars girl group.While the idea of starting afresh may be frightening to some, the 32-year-old sees it as a blessing."There's beauty that lies in having to start from scratch, having to reintroduce yourself - I see it as a blessing," she said."It's been learning curve after learning curve and yes, I miss the group, I miss the girls," she concedes, but says she's "enjoying the ups and the downs"."It's quite thrilling having to push the bounds."With the release of her latest single Go Low alongside DJ Clap and Ghanaian artist Biggy Billz, tomorrow, the bubbly singer busts the confines of her "pop girl" image on the dancehall track. ..
