Drag racers stone Cape cops

Drag-racers and some of their 2‚000 spectators stoned police and traffic officials when they started issuing fines at an illegal racing event in Cape Town at the weekend. City law enforcement agencies swooped on an illegal racing hotspot in the suburb of Eerste River on Sunday where they found 100 cars and an unruly crowd of about 2‚000 spectators.
