SAPS denies report its training programme is eight months

The South African Police Service has defended its new police training programme‚ saying reports that the curriculum had been cut from 24 months down to eight were incorrect. Addressing the media in Parliament on Tuesday‚ acting police commissioner Kgomotso Phahlane said the new training‚ was 21 months long‚ compared to 24 months previously‚ and was aimed at improving policing.
