Wits boffin finds clues to origins of life in algae

Billions of years ago a switch was flipped, allowing single cells to evolve into multicellular organisms - from which life would emerge.For decades scientists have tried to understand how and why this happened.Now a Wits researcher and fellow scientists in Tokyo and the US have added to the understanding of this transformation.
