AfriForum meets with police commissioner on farm murders

The civil rights organisation AfriForum will meet on Wednesday with the Acting National Police Commissioner‚ Lieutenant-General Khomotso Phahlane‚ to discuss strategies regarding the prioritisation of farm murders. “The meeting follows the statement that farm murders should be given greater priority‚ which Phahlane made in the media earlier this year. In light of this statement‚ AfriForum requested to meet with Phahlane to make the organisation's resources available to him‚” AfriForum said.Ernst Roets‚ Deputy CEO of AfriForum‚ said that the organisation had for many years been driving a campaign for the prioritisation of farm murders and that the organisation welcomed Phahlane’s approachability.“We are confident that cooperation between AfriForum and the South African Police Service will make an invaluable contribution towards the fight against farm murders.”..
