Second drug mule bust by airport cops‚ this time in Cape Town

Police attached to Cape Town International Airport arrested a 27-year-old man for possession of cocaine with an estimated street value of R500‚000 on Monday afternoon. "The suspect arrived from an international flight‚" Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said. He is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.A 32-year-old South African woman was also arrested by police officers at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg shortly after she arrived from Dubai for possession of cocaine weighing 5‚7 kilogrammes and valued at R1‚6 million‚ the SAPS said on Monday. Police found the stash of drugs hidden in tins “which were nicely sealed“‚ during a joint operation consisting of members of the South African Police Service’s Trans International Investigation Unit‚ Tactical Response Team‚ Intelligence and K9 Units (on Friday night)‚ SAPS spokesman Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo said.“We have established from her passport entries that she has been a regular visitor abroad‚” Naidoo said.Constable Rwexana commented: "Police management is pleased with the arrests of drug mules in the past few days and commend members in their efforts to fight drug trafficking"...
