Community praised for tipping off cops about king’s cattle

Three men have been arrested for allegedly stealing nine cows from Zulu monarch King Goodwill Zwelithini. The KwaZulu-Natal transport‚ community safety and liaison department on Thursday said Dlomodlomo residents in Nongoma alerted police to stolen cattle that were hidden in a kraal.The cattle cost in the region of R5000 to R8000 each.Transport‚ Community Safety and Liaison MEC Willies Mchunu applauded the police and community for recovering the king's cattle.“Indeed the partnership between the police and community members will yield good results in reducing crime in this province‚” said Mchunu.“We have said time and again that police alone cannot defeat crime.“But it’s only a united front and partnership of all sectors of community working with the police that could bring about a noticeable impact against crime.” - TMG Digital/The Times..
