Johan Visagé caught footage of shots being fired as police responded to an Uber Protest in Sandton.

"Three metro police officers were injured and they were taken to Milkpark hospital. It is not yet clear why the attack took place‚" Metro police spokesman Wayne Minnaar said.

Uber has tweeted a statement about the incident saying:

"We are aware of the intimidation occurring at Sandton Gautrain Station and are taking all of the necessary steps to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

"We are working with private security, JMPD, SAPS, Gautrain and all other relevant stakeholders as we're deeply committed to rider & driver safety. Driver partners have access to an emergency line in the event that they feel unsafe in any way."
