NSRI assists stricken boat off KZN south coast

The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) assisted a stricken boat experiencing motor problems off the Kwazulu-Natal south coast on Saturday. “On Saturday at 14h15‚ while on a routine training exercise with Hibiscus Medevac ambulance services NSRI Shelly Beach were activated following a request for assistance from the local boat Calypso‚ at the backline‚ off Shelly Beach‚ reporting motor problems with four local men onboard.“The NSRI Shelly Beach sea rescue craft Spirit of Dawn and the Hibiscus Medevac rescue craft God’s Grace diverted from the training exercise and responded. On arrival on the scene 3 men were transferred onto God’s Grace and brought to shore and the skipper of the casualty boat managed to get his craft ashore on limited motor power‚” he NSRI said...
