Soyinka: Where is our negritude?

Nigerian-born academic and one of the continent's most prominent literary figures, Professor Wole Soyinka, gave a talk in celebration of Africa Day at the Soweto Theatre in Jabulani last night, focusing on "negritude" - defined as the self-affirmation of black people. "What exactly is being black? What is the being of blackness?" Soyinka asked.
