‘Kota Gate’ continues as Twitter users find food prices hard to swallow

Twitter is still abuzz with users bemoaning the rising cost of food in a viral debate dubbed “Kota Gate”. Kota‚ traditionally an inexpensive meal featuring hollowed-out bread filled with ingredients such as polony‚ eggs and slap chips‚ started trending on social media on Tuesday thanks to a tuckshop advert for the meal‚ priced at “only” R28.
