Adidas in epic Colombia fail

Adidas scored something of an own goal in its marketing campaign for the Copa America football tournament, mispelling Colombia as "Columbia" in its promotional advertising, Sky News reported on its website. The faux pas was all the more embarrassing considering the money that must have been piled into the campaign, which featured such high-profile stars as Real Madrid's James Rodriguez.Hopefully, for its next campaign, Adidas will apportion some of the budget to a proofreader. The blunder was slammed by Twitter users as an "epic mistake", with Sky News quoting one user as tweeting: "Seriously, @adidasfootball - IT'S COLOMBIA, not Columbia! Colossal mistake for such a brand. Unacceptable."A spokesman for Adidas said: "We value our partnership with the Colombian Football Federation and apologise for our mistake. We removed these graphics and are quickly installing new versions."The misspelling hardly seemed to dent the Colombian side's spirit. They beat Paraguay 2-1 on Tuesday to progress to the quarterfinals. ..
