Hewitt accusers tells of regained ‘dignity and freedom’ after court dismisses his appeal

One of former tennis star Bob Hewitt's rape survivors says she has finally found her freedom and that her dignity has been restored. The Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) on Thursday dismissed the 76-year-old's appeal against his sentence for his two rape convictions and one of sexual assault.Hewitt must now report to correctional services authorities to start serving his effective six-year sentence and pay R100 000 to the justice department for use in anti-abuse initiatives.
