Hawks: Speculation on Bozwana hit is dangerous

Reports of the “imminent arrests of political leaders in the Wandile Bozwana murder case” are the work of “unscrupulous people whose interest is to bring confusion and fear”‚ the Hawks said on Tuesday.In a statement‚ Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) spokesman Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi expressed “concern with the number of speculations making rounds” about the investigation into the hit on the Botswana businessman in October last year.He said Hawks head Lieutenant-General Mthandazo Ntlemeza “has noted’ that some of those “speculating on the matters relating to the murder…have even dangerously ventured into suggesting that some businessmen and politicians were masterminds behind Bozwana's murder”. Businessman charged with Bozwana murderA businessman who was appearing in court on another matter has also been charged with the murder of North West businessman Wandile Bozwana.“As the Hawks and other law enforcement agencies charged with the responsibility to safeguard rule of law‚ we want to assure all South Africans that we do our work without fear‚ favour or hesitation.‚” Mulaudzi said.“No amount of insinuations‚ perceptions and deceptions will inform or influence our work. We have already recorded commendable progress on this matter.
