Killer car possibly came from bad batch

Jeep Grand Cherokee models similar to the one that killed US actor Anton Yelchin on Sunday may have had mechanical problems since as early as 1993 and 1998. According to a report by Car magazine in 2002, Chrysler recalled 1.6 million of its 1993 and 1998 production runs of the Jeep Grand Cherokee following complaints that gear problems made the cars jump from the parking to reverse gear unexpectedly.
