South Africa’s population now stands at 55.7 million

The population of South Africa has increased by over 3 million people from 51.8 million in 2011 to 55.7 million. Gauteng is the province with the highest number of people at 13.4 million.The economic hub is followed by KwaZulu-Natal with 11 million inhabitants‚ the Eastern Cape with 7 million and Western Cape with 7 million.
