Taxman prowls Pretoria streets as tax season opens

The taxman took to the busy streets of Pretoria’s central business district on Friday to mark the opening of the tax season. More than 1 200 South African Revenue Service employees‚ lead by SARS commissioner Tom Moyane‚ set out on a route of 11.75km‚ which symbolises the country’s revenue target of R1‚175-trillion – and aims to demonstrate that the receiver of revenue is fit and ready.
