The police in KwaZulu-Natal have arrested as many as 20 people for public violence following a protest action by alleged National Freedom Party (NFP) members. The Electoral Commission disqualified the NFP from participating in the August 3 local government elections after they failed to meet the payment deadline to take part.Angry community members clad in NFP party regalia took to the streets on Tuesday morning and blocked the Ulundi turn-off on the road connecting Melmoth with Vryheid. Two people were reportedly injured after police used rubber bullets to disperse a large crowd earlier on Tuesday.SA Police Service ‏@SAPoliceService tweeted:#sapsKZN Babanango: 20 Arrested for public violence after #ProtestAction early this am at Ulundi turn off btw Melmoth & Vryheid Rds.
