Mooi River farm robbery suspect shot during attack

Two suspected farm robbers will appear in the Mooi River Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday‚ while police continue a search for their accomplice who remains at large. The pair – one of whom sustained a gunshot wound - were arrested near the scene of the crime just hours after it occurred on Saturday night.“On Saturday night‚ at about 11pm‚ a farm owner and his wife were watching TV in their house when they were approached by three suspects. The couple was assaulted and robbed of their 9mm pistol‚” a statement said.Ritual murder suspected as two nabbed with head wrapped in newspapers“Is it alleged that during the robbery‚ one of the suspects was shot and injured. All three suspects fled the scene on foot.“The police members started to trace the whereabouts of the suspects and the suspects were arrested not far from the crime scene. One suspect is still at large with a stolen firearm.”KwaZulu-Natal acting provincial commissioner Major-General Bhekinkosi Langa commended the cops for the swift arrest: “Our members will work tirelessly looking for the outstanding suspect in this case.
