Funnyman Robby Collins will be spending the next week expanding his Canadian general knowledge ahead of the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. The Durban-born actor and comedian will make his debut at the world's biggest comedy festival next month. Collins and veteran comedian David Kau will perform at the festival with some of the world's greatest comedians including Hannibal Buress, Aziz Ansari, Russel Peters, Kevin Hart and Jimmy Carr .The duo will be joining Comedy Central on the channel's annual voyage to Canada to showcase South African comedy at the event. Collins described the opportunity as "exciting and humbling". Last year, Jason Goliath and ventriloquist Conrad Koch represented SA.Collins, who has been getting tips from Goliath, said: "Even with all the advice, you'll never know until you get on stage. We know a lot about America and Canada, but they don't know much about us, so it's about letting them into my world and my experiences."Collins said he needed to prepare material that would appeal to an international crowd."Laughter is universal; being on stage is just about having a conversation with different people, but every comedian has bombed on stage - if that happens try another joke, if you get to the third joke, then just leave the stage and hope the audience forgets you."To avoid an awkward exit from stage he has been tweaking his old jokes, working on new ones and brushing up on his Canadian general knowledge. He has a week to learn more before arriving in Montreal on July 26. ..
