Heavy snowfalls blanketed several towns as temperatures dipped to below zero in parts of the country on Monday.

Several roads were closed due to dangerous driving conditions and snow in the Free State‚ KwaZulu Natal and the Eastern Cape.Photographs of the snow were posted widely on social media on Monday morning.
