Roof of Tembisa mall collapses after tornado rips through area

The roof of a mall in Tembisa on the East Rand has collapsed after a tornado ripped through the area on Tuesday afternoon. The incident happened at Phumulani Mall in Winnie Mandela section in Tembisa‚ Ekurhuleni.City officials have confirmed that the destruction was caused by a tornado.Watch: Second tornado wreaks havoc in Gauteng - reportsA tornado has reportedly been spotted in the East of Johannesburg - the second that has appeared in Gauteng in 24 hours. Werner Vermaak, spokesman for ER24, said three people had been treated for minor injuries."It is believed their injuries were caused by falling debris. They were assessed on the scene and transported to a nearby hospital. Fire and rescue teams conducted a full search off the area to ensure no one else was trapped. There seems to be a greater occurrence in mountainous areas.
