Suspect killed during heist was former cop dismissed after previous cash-in-transit robbery

A former police officer and four of his gang members were killed in a shootout with police in a foiled cash-in-transit robbery in Mpumalanga.Three policemen involved in the operation were injured late on Monday night‚ one of them fatally.Officers from the Special Task Force‚ Crime Intelligence Unit and the Hawks were tipped off about the planned heist in Secunda.
