Microlight crash leaves one dead‚ another critical

One man was killed and another critically injured on Wednesday afternoon when a microlight aircraft crashed into a field in Alrode south of Johannesburg‚ ER24 said. “ER24 paramedics‚ along with various other services‚ arrived on the scene and found the wrecked aircraft in the middle of the field.“On inspection‚ paramedics discovered that one patient‚ a man‚ had already succumbed to his multiple injuries. Nothing more could be done for the patient and he was declared dead on scene‚” ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said.The second victim was assessed and found to have sustained numerous injuries‚ he said.“Paramedics quickly began their treatment and provided the patient with advanced life support interventions. Once treated‚ the patient was transported to a private hospital for further treatment.“The exact cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations‚” Meiring said...
