Teenager rescued after being swept out to sea on boogie board

A 15-year-old boy was rescued on Thursday afternoon after being swept out to sea on a boogie board at Camps Bay on the Cape Peninsula. The National Sea Rescue Institute crew at Bakoven was alerted by the boy’s father after his son got into difficulty in stronger than normal rip currents.A sea rescue craft was launched and the teenager was discovered about 200 metres offshore.
