DA is for and against cycle lanes

The DA in Johannesburg has scrapped multimillion-rand bicycle lanes, but DA-led Cape Town is peddling cycling lane expansion for the next 15 years. The City of Cape Town yesterday unveiled plans to get more residents on bicycles.But local ANC leader Xolani Sotashe said: "Bicycle lanes can't be a priority while the issue of transport infrastructure to poor communities has not been addressed.
