European passport found in KZN aircraft wreckage

Investigators have recovered a European Union passport and German-issued pilot licence amongst the wreckage of a light aircraft that crashed‚ killing two people in KwaZulu-Natal. The aircraft went down in Emakhonyeni near the town of Jozini in the north of the province on Thursday."Unfortunately no one was able to help the people in the plane and we can only say that there were two people inside‚” Jozini traffic officer Zama Khumalo told TMG Digital.The Zululand Observer reported on Friday that documents had been found identifying the chartered aircraft as a Piper 28-235 Cherokee.The passport and pilot licence were also retrieved at the crash site‚ which extended over about two kilometres.The names of the deceased are yet to be released.An investigation into the circumstances leading up to the crash is under way by the South African Civil Aviation Authority...
