13‚246 tourists kept from visiting South Africa due to unabridged birth certificates

More than 13,000 tourists and other visitors were denied entry into South Africa in just one year because of recently introduced regulations regarding unabridged birth certificates. The total number of 13,246 visitors turned away while trying to board flights to South Africa applies to the period June 2015 to July 2016‚ according to statistics provided by the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) presented in the Portfolio Committee on Tourism meeting in parliament today.
