Gold quits Sharks after forgettable tenure

Gary Gold's relinquishing of the position as Sharks director of rugby yesterday brings to an end a two-year period of stultifying play that reaped no rewards. While Gold was hamstrung by inheriting a jaded squad from former Springbok coach Jake White, they bumbled and underperformed last year but showed signs of improvement this year when they made the Super rugby quarterfinals.
