Limpopo doctor in court for student girlfriend’s murder

A Limpopo medical doctor accused of murdering his girlfriend who was a student at the University of Venda is expected to appear before the Thohoyandou magistrates court on Thursday.

Ndivhuwo Mudau‚25‚ a doctor at Tshilidzini hospital‚ handed himself over to authorities a few weeks ago after police spent days searching for him in connection with the murder of Refilwe Masinamela‚ 23‚ popularly known as Dineo.

Her body was discovered with stab wounds inside Mudau's room at the doctors residence of the Tshilidzini hospital.

At the time of her death‚ Masinamela‚ from Maapana Village near GaKgapane‚ was studying towards a degree in education and had two daughters‚ aged two and six.

Mudau made a brief court appearance on the same day he handed himself over to the police. His case was postponed for further investigations‚ and he is still expected to make a formal bail application before the court.
