Robbers injure pitbulls during house break-in

A Durban family’s pets were injured and traumatised during a house robbery on Friday evening. Two pitbulls were treated at Ashburne Veterinary Clinic after a house robbery in La Lucia.Yonela Nkubungu‚ the vet on call‚ said he treated the dogs for what appeared to have been vinegar that was sprayed at them.“I treated them in case they had also eaten something. The female dog's eye was swollen. But there were no overt signs of assault‚” said Nkubungu.Marshall Security's Kyle van Reenen said when the home owner arrived home they found the driveway gate open.“Suspects had derailed the electric gate‚ forced entry into the home through the front door‚ ransacking the premises. On further investigation‚ the family pet‚ a large breed dog‚ was found to have been confined to the bathroom‚” said Van Reenen.TMG Digital/Durban Newsroom..
