Woman kidnapped at Beitbridge is rescued‚ four suspects held

A woman kidnapped at the Beitbridge border post was rescued and four suspects were arrested‚ police said in a statement on Friday.

The woman was on her way to Polokwane‚ where her husband is working‚ but was kidnapped and taken to a house in Musina where she was kept. The husband was phoned and told to deposit R400 at a shop in Musina for her release.

The police were notified and the Makhado K9 Unit and cluster task team traced the suspects and rescued the woman.

Four people‚ aged between 24 to 39‚ were arrested. They are due to appear in the Musina Magistrate’s Court soon.
