Newborn baby found wrapped in a plastic bag

A newborn baby boy was found wrapped in a plastic bag in Berea‚ Johannesburg‚ on Monday.

“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the provincial services already on attendance.

“Paramedics assessed the child‚ who was found wrapped in a plastic bag‚ and found that he was in a critical condition‚” ER24 said in a statement.

The child was treated at the scene and provided with advanced life support interventions.

“Once treated‚ the boy was transported to Johannesburg General Hospital for urgent treatment‚” said ER24

The emergency service said circumstances surrounding the infant’s abandonment were not yet known.
