Two suspects to appear in court for murder of heroic JMPD officer

Two suspects are due to appear in the Westgate Magistrate's Court on Wednesday for the murder of Johannesburg metro police officer Mpho Ratshikhopha.

Metro police chief David Tembe said at the time that Ratshikhopha had been shot five times. One bullet hit the side of his head.

The JMPD and the City had announced a R100‚000 reward for any information that could lead to arrests.

"It is with great sadness that one of our brave has paid an ultimate price. The officers that serve and protect our Communities risk their own safety for everyone each day. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. He will be remembered for his bravery‚" Tembe said in February.

MMC for Public Safety Michael Sun will be present in court on Wednesday.
