Police divers recover body of missing KZN pupil

Police divers have recovered the body of 18-year-old Sabelo Silangwe‚ who disappeared while swimming off Wedge Beach‚ Durban‚ on Wednesday.

On Friday‚ Silangwe’s body was spotted floating two nautical miles off Durban’s coast by fishermen. Specialist divers located the body and pull it into a rescue boat.

Silangwe‚ who was a pupil at Isinamuva High School‚ about 20km from Highflats‚ KwaZulu-Natal‚ was on a school excursion when he went swimming and disappeared beneath the surf.

It is understood that Silangwe had gone missing sometime in the afternoon. His peers and minders reported the incident several hours later.
