Eskom calls off power cuts to Queenstown and other Eastern Cape towns
Eskom has given a reprieve to Eastern Cape towns that were facing power cuts as a result of debts.

Eskom had earlier said it would implement electricity supply interruptions in Queenstown‚ Tarkastad‚ Hofmeyr‚ Molteno and Sterkstroom in the Enoch Mgijima Municipality from Thursday.
In the first week‚ electricity was due to be cut from 6am to 9am and from 5pm to 8.30pm on weekdays‚ and from 8.30am to noon and 3pm to 7pm on weekends. In week two‚ cuts would have lasted from 8am to 8pm during the week and from 6am to 8pm on weekends.
Eskom had given the municipality until May 7 to come up with a payment arrangement.
