Protea Glen residents block roads in protest against alleged land invaders
Residents from Protea Glen‚ Johannesburg‚ took to the streets on Monday in protest against a group of people who were erecting shacks in the area.
“People from Extension 29 in Protea Glen blocked the roads to stop those people who are erecting shacks in the area‚” police spokesperson Lieutenant Kay Makhubele told TimesLIVE.
He said it was unknown where the people who were trying to invade the vacant land came from.
The residents‚ according to Makhubele‚ have blocked Randfontein and Impala Roads.
“The police are at the scene and are monitoring the situation.”
