Durban man injured in dog attack

A Durban man was seriously injured when a dog attacked him on Friday.

ER24 spokesperson Ineke van Huyssteen said the 68-year-old man was attacked in Phoenix‚ in the north of the city. The exact circumstances around the attack were unknown.

ER24 said it was believed the man was working in the garden before he was attacked by the dog.

“When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene just before 1pm they found the man sitting on the lawn being attended to by another medical service on the scene. Upon further assessment‚ they found that the man sustained serious injuries” said Van Huyssteen.

“The man was transported to hospital for further medical care.”
