One killed in shooting at taxi rank in Roodepoort

A man was killed and a woman injured during a shooting at a taxi rank in Roodepoort on Thursday night.

“At approximately 6.27pm‚ Netcare 911 responded to a shooting at a taxi rank in Roodepoort‚ Gauteng‚” Netcare 911 spokesperson Tebogo Magoro said.

“On arrival Netcare 911 attended to a 31-year-old male and a 23-year-old female. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the man had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.”

The man was declared dead at the scene while the woman was found to have sustained a gunshot wound to the left hip.

“She was treated and stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital for further medical care‚” Magoro said.
