Mother arrested for seven-year-old’s death

Police are investigating a case of murder involving an Umhlanga woman‚ who stands accused of taking the life of her seven-year-old son on Wednesday.

Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said the 34-year-old suspect appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on a charge of murder.

“It is alleged that a seven-year-old boy was killed by a known suspect while at home in Herald Drive‚ Umhlanga.

“The motive is yet to be established. The court appearance results are unknown at this stage since the docket is still at court‚” said Zwane.
