We’ve come a bloody long way from rejecting black donors

The furore that followed news that the South African National Blood Service was racially profiling donors emerged in late 2004 led to the introduction in 2005 of a new test that allowed the blood service to eliminate race-based collection policies.
Now it has been revealed that the number of black blood donors grew almost six-fold in the ensuing decade.
