Three men were killed when a car veered from the R74 near Stanger, north of Durban, and rolled repeatedly on Wednesday morning.

IPSS Medical Rescue spokesman Paul Herbst said that the driver seemed to have lost control of the car, which left the road and careened down an embankment before landing on its roof in a sugarcane field.

“Medical rescue crews found three of the occupants, all men, had no signs of life. Unfortunately they were declared dead at the scene,” he said.

“The driver of the car sustained serious injuries and was treated by our advanced life support paramedic before being transported to hospital for further care.”
