A 9-year-old girl drowned in a private swimming pool in Zinkwazi, on the north coast of KwaZulu-Natal, on Sunday.
IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Paul Herbst said when they arrived at the scene they found lifeguards performing CPR on the little girl. Paramedics then started performing advanced life support resuscitation.
After a prolonged attempt, there was no sign of life and the girl was declared dead.
