One injured in Durban blaze before firefighters save the day

Firefighters worked tirelessly to stop a fire that nearly gutted a Durban home on Tuesday.

Rescue Care spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said a team of firemen and paramedics attended to the fire in the residential area of Umbilo.

"The house was well alight. One person suffered severe burns," he said.

Jamieson told TimesLIVE that firefighters managed to douse the fire and the injured person was taken to hospital.

It is unclear what caused the blaze.
